This, as Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Pricilla Schwartz says there is need for a more coordinated approach in getting justice for victims of rape and other sexual crimes in the country.

The Ministry of Finance has announced the payment of Le 42,883,440,000 as tuition fees for children in government-owned and government-assisted primary and secondary schools across the country.

Some 1,871,188 pupils are covered as part of the government’s Free Quality Education programme.

Sierra Leone is setting up its aviation industry to go all-out digital before it reopens its airspace. President Julius Maada Bio and the Director General of the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority, Moses Tiffa Baio both said on Tuesday that proper automated plans had to be put in place to prevent the importation of the coronavirus in the country.

Pan-African campaigners in Sierra Leone have urged the government to “decolonize” Sierra Leone by removing colonial symbols and renaming major edifices that were renamed after colonizers.

In a statement, the Administrative Committee Member of the Pan-Africanist Movement, Abdul Malik Kamara said their call was part of the broader global call for the African continent and its people to “break free from the shackles of White supremacy”.

Magistrate Hannah Bonnie, on Wednesday 24^th June remanded Ibrahim Kamara who rides a tricycle taxi (locally known as Kekeh) into the custody of the correctional services in Freetown at the start of preliminary investigations into a one count charge of murder against the 23 year-old.

Police prosecutors allege that Kamara, on Saturday 31^st of August 2019 along Regent Road, Lumley in the Western Area of Sierra Leone murdered Sheku Samura who was also a tricycle taxi rider.
