Guinea rights group vows to march against Junta on Thursday

  Members of National Front for the Defence of the Constitution (FNDC), a constitutional rights group in Guinea have insisted they will march beginning from Matoto a municipality in the capital Conakry tomorrow, in opposition to the military Government’s 2025 date for a return to civilian rule.

No cocaine in suspicious container-Police

Alleged police killing in Garangawa

One Santigie Conteh at the Garangawa village in Ngowahun Chiefdom, Bombali District, has been reported dead after a shooting incident allegedly by the Sierra Leone Police.

The incident according to the Member of Parliament (MP), Dr. Mark Mahmoud Kalokoh representing constituency 032 in Bombali District happened after the villagers expressed concerns about the manner of arrest of one Abass Conteh, by the police.

Sierra Leone assures against monkeypox

The Pillar Lead at the Emergency Response Centre, Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Harold Thomas has confirmed that Sierra Leone is optimistic in terms of preparedness for the monkeypox disease which was announced in neighbouring Liberia.

Speaking to Politico, Thomas said that “apart from Liberia having a case, we are on alert because Sierra Leone has gotten at least one or two outbreaks in the past”.

Call for shake-up in Lands Ministry

Bench warrant for two suspects

Two men who were part of a group of six accused of damaging 60 building structures at Fonima Section, Goderich failed to show up in court yesterday prompting Magistrate Mark Ngeba to issue a bench warrant against them.

Gbessay Kamara and Samuel Turay were charged along with four other men Aruna Saidu Barrie, John Bockarie,Alex Santos Kamara, and Gbessay Kamara  for offences of conspiracy, larceny, and malicious damage.

The owner of the property Hawa Sesay was not in court as a Police witness testified.
