Local Councils retreat ends

A-four-day retreat by Local Councils held in Bo on the theme: Deepening Decentralization and Enhancing Service Delivery in local government will end today 12th March 2021.

The four-day event was on the 9th March this year officially opened by the Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh who doubles as the Chairman of the ministerial Committee on Decentralization.

Man jailed for 30 years for Sexual Penetration

Justice Abdul Rahman Mansaray of the High Court in Kabala presiding over cases at the Special High Court Criminal Session in Mongo Bendugu, Falaba district has sentenced Alusine Kombor Marah to 30 years imprisonment on a three-count indictment, including sexually penetrating a three-year old.

State Prosecutor Augustine Yarimeh Sogbo Mansary said the accused sexually penetrated the three-year old on 17th November, 2020 in Lensenia Village, about eight miles from the district headquarter town of Mongo Bendugu.

TransAir to resume flight to Sierra Leone

The Management of the TransAir group, an airspace Travel Company has said that the Company will resume services by flying between Guinea and Freetown after they were brought to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Officials of the company made that statement on 10th March 2021 during a courtesy and familiarity visit to the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Guinea.
