The Court of Appeal presided over by Justice Michael P.H Mami has withdrawn files relating to the former deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation, Madina Rahman for ruling, after thirty minutes each was allotted to counsel representing the appellant and the state. The court also gave ten minutes to the appellant's Lawyer, Ady Macaulay, and the Lawyer representing the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Robert B. Kowa, for rebuttals and rejoinders.

FOCUS 1000 trains polio vaccination monitors

A non-governmental organization FOCUS 1000 with support from UNICEF has ended a polio vaccine monitoring training of 132 vaccine accountability monitors for the upcoming polio campaign in the Kenema district. Muslims in Sierra Leone yesterday 13th May 2021 joined other countries across the world to celebrate the Eid Ul-Fitri marking the end of the Ramadan month of fasting.
The Muslim community in Sierra Leone was very happy and came out in large numbers to observe the first congregational Eid prayers in different parts of the country since the outbreak of the corona virus disease in the country in March 2020.
Sierra Leone to reopen Lunsar mine in June

Former foes, US-based Gerald Group and the Government of Sierra Leone, have buried the hatchet and agreed that iron ore mining will resume in Lunsar in June.
This comes almost two years since the mines there were closed following the cancellation of the license of SL Mining on allegations of breach of agreement and law, which the company denied and went to court to disprove.

Sierra Leone kicks off Ebola vaccination
Ebola vaccination kicked off yesterday in Sierra Leone in a proactive public health move to “protect people at high risk of infection in case of any potential cross-border transmission of the disease from the ongoing outbreak in neighboring Guinea, according to the World Health Organisation.
The vaccination campaign was launched in Kambia district, which borders Guinea And is a major international point of entry by road.
It will continue in eight other districts that share border with Guinea.
