ACC indicts former judiciary staff

The Anti-Corruption Commission has in a press statement announced the indictment of former Acting Principal Accountant of the Judiciary of Sierra Leone Salihu Sheku Nyallay.

The indictment according to the statement was filed on the 4th May, 2021, on three count charges of Misappropriation of Public Funds contrary to Section 36(1), and on Conspiracy to Commit a Corruption Offence, contrary to Section 128(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act, No. 12 of 2008, as amended by the Anti-Corruption Act No. 9 of 2019. 

Red Cross President engages eastern region volunteers

The National President of the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society Rev. Sahr Christian Fayia has held a consultative meeting with staff and volunteers of the society in Kenema and Kailahun district at the regional office in Kenema.

SLRSA to train its corps

As part of the drive to standardize and strengthen the operations of the Sierra Leone’s Road Safety Authority, its management has called for the establishment of an independent academy to train its corps.

 The Road safety corps of the authority are currently trained by the Sierra Leone Police on how to manage traffic and ensure road safety across the country.

Pujehun to light up again

As part of efforts to improve rural electrification in Sierra Leone, Pujehun district in the Southern part of the country will after decades of lack of electricity supply access electricity again since over 35 years ago.

The project according to officials of the Ministry of Energy is part of the Seven District headquarter town Electrification project by the government that is aimed at ensuring access to electricity supply for all.
