$6.5M Geodata Survey to benefit all Sierra Leoneans

National Minerals Agency (NMA) officials during the weekly press briefing at the Ministry of Information and Communication in Freetown on Thursday, May 27 2021, have said that the geodata survey will be beneficial to all Sierra Leoneans.

The project, which is being sponsored by the World Bank through its bolstering of Extractive Industry Project in developing countries, is worth $6.5 million.

Susan’s Bay children receive school supplies

Children affected by this year’s Susan’s Bay fire disaster have received various relief items donated by different children’s organizations operating in the country. The humanitarian support was also to assist school children in the community with needed school supplies.

45 parents of street children benefit from business grant

As part of complementing government’s intervention in addressing causes of having street children, a non- governmental organization Future Focus Foundation with funds from Red Norse Day based in USA has presented 41 million Leones to 45 parents of street children in Kenema.

Addressing parents and the children, the National Team Leader Future Focus Foundation, Sylvester Sidie Kallon disclosed that the grant was to ensure that parents of those street children are able to use the money to get them off the streets.

MBSSE ends regional education sector review

The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary School Education (MBSSE) in collaboration with the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education has ended a day’s Education Sector review at Peace Garden in Kenema.

In her statement, the Director of Planning and Policy in the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Adama Jean Momoh said the purpose of joint review of the education sector was to look at the sector plan from 2014 to 2018.
