New district office for Sierra Leone ruling party in Kailahun

The ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) has unveiled a new district office in Kailahun town. President Julius Maada Bio on the 22 May 2021 formally opened the structure, at an event that was well- attended by party supporters.

The President praised the people at their determination to give a facelift to the party in the district by constructing the office and said it’s being opened at the time the party was celebrating 70 years of existence.

Bo Rangers open historic clubhouse

President Julius Maada Bio has formally opened the clubhouse of Bo Rangers football club in the Katanga area of the City. The president described the ultra-modern clubhouse and secretariat with state-of-the-art-facilities as the product of “sacrifice, leadership and organization” and called on the players and technical staff to be inspired by the investment to produce good results on the field of play.

Sierra Leone Roads Authority concludes ESHIA report

The Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) has concluded a three day public disclosure of the Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessment (ESHIA) report for the reconstruction of the Kailahun - Koindu, Koindu - Guinea Border and Koindu - Liberia Border Road Projects in two separate events.

The report assessed the impacts of the operations and provided mitigation measures, including environmental and social management plans and monitoring measures for the entire project cycle.

Robbery with aggravation, three witnesses testify

Three witnesses have testified before Justice Komba Kamanda of the High Court No.2 in Freetown in a robbery with aggravation trial allegedly committed by one Mustapha Kabba.

The first witness to be summoned to the dock was Detective Superintendent Bangura A.K, a firearm examiner attached to the Scientific Support Department at the CID Headquarters. Bangura stated that he has been a firearm examiner for the past three years.
