Skin cancer poses threats to Albinos in Sierra Leone

The Programme  Officer of the Sierra Leone Albinism Foundation (SLAFo), Mohamed K. Sesay says  albinos are dying of cancer in Sierra Leone due to lack of specialists in dermatology and poverty.

Speaking to Politico, Sesay said skin cancer is of major concern to albinos in Sierra Leone as many cannot afford the recommendation and prescription made for them due to poverty and that they often suffer from sunburn that causes cancer.

Six face sentence in Bonthe

Six accused persons who have pleaded guilty to various offences levied against them will today 18th June 2021 be sentenced by the resident High Court Judge in Moyamba District, Justice Abukakar Sannoh, currently presiding over the High Court Criminal Sessions in Mattru Jong, Bonthe district.

According to a report from the Judiciary Communications Unit, 45-year-old Musa Lahai pleaded guilty to one count indictment of sexually penetrating a 16-year-old school girl.

Sierra Leone's conservation society presents forest rangers

As part of the efforts in the promotion and protection of reserved areas in the country, the Conservation Society of Sierra Leone (CSSL) has on the 16th June 2021, presented ten new forest rangers to provide additional support to the National Protected Area Authority’s (NPAA) work.
