No date for graduation at University of Sierra Leone

The Director of Media and Communications of the University of Sierra Leone, Dr. Tonya Musa, has dismissed as untrue graduation dates shared on social media.

“We have graduation week, but we have not yet fixed dates for graduation,” Dr. Musa said. “The university will come out with dates to inform its graduands appropriately.”

The Deputy Commissioner of Insurance at the Sierra Leone Insurance Commission (SLICOM), Sheku Mattia has dismissed claims published by the print media that Sierra Leone has lost its membership of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Brown Card.

Speaking at a press briefing hosted by the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Deputy Commissioner stated that “Sierra Leone is still a member of the ECOWAS Brown Card.”

Sierra Leone detains main opposition spokesman

Police yesterday detained the Spokesman of the main opposition All People’s Congress party, Sidi Yayah Tunis.  

According to the Inspector General of Police, Ambrose Sovula, Tunis “was invited to report to the police…in connection with some utterances he made that bear some inciting words that have the propensity to undermine state security or national security”.
