Armed robbers attack Okada rider in Bo

 A commercial motorbike rider Mohamed Jalloh who survived a shooting incident by suspected armed robbers in Bo has urged his colleagues to refrain from night riding as they will be at the mercy of bad people.

Jalloh gave the piece of advice during an interview with Politico as he nursed his injuries. The attack took place on Wednesday 23rd February 2022 at 1:00 am along Gerihun Road.

Court rules on Sambaia paramount chieftaincy

Justice Aiah Simeon Allieu has ordered that Chief Alhaji Musa Bamba Foray Jalloh III of Sambaia Chiefdom, Tonkolili District, Northern Sierra Leone be sworn in as Paramount Chief of the chiefdom.

But the Judge rejected the granting of an injunction against the swearing of the Chief who was the 5th respondent following a petition by nine people.

Justice Kamanda Okays Neya Chiefdom, Paramount Chieftaincy Elections

Appeal Court Judge, Justice Komba Kamanda has removed the injunctive reliefs granted by Justice Samuel O. M Taylor against conducting the Paramount Chieftaincy Election of Neya Chiefdom, Falaba District in the Northern Province of the Country.

He ordered that the election   should go ahead within thirty days.

Sierra Leone: Women beaten and raped over land

Police at the Family Support Unit in Kenema are investigating a matter leading to the rape of two women (name withheld) and the physical assault of other women. The incidents were said to have taken place by a stream in an area contested by the villages of Baoma and Jopowahun in the Gaura Chiefdom, Kenema district, on the 16th February 2022.

Reports allege the attacks were carried out by a group of men from Jopowahun village in the same Gaura chiefdom Kenema district.

FBC bans lectures at Amphitheatre

Following concerns raised regarding the nature of classes held at Fourah Bay College (FBC) University of Sierra Leone (USL), particularly at the Amphitheatre, the college’s Administration has stated that all lectures held at the said venue have nothing to do with classrooms, but that it is a matter of wanting convenience by the lecturers.
