ACC backs 2019-2020 Audit report

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has in its update on the issues raised in the 2019 and 2020 Auditor General’s report confirmed the allegations of corruption and other conducts contrary to the provisions of the 2029 ACC Acts and has made some recoveries after an investigation launched into the issues.  

“85% of sachet water are not reliable”- says MP

The Chairman for Water Resources Committee in Parliament Lahai Marah has during the ratification of the agreement between the government of Sierra Leone and Grafton Investment Company, said that 85% of sachet water produced in the country lack purity and unfit for consumption. He also described the industry as “chaotic”.

The Commonwealth Business Women Network Africa (CWBN), an advocacy group for female participation and empowerment, to take advantage of the Africa Free Trade initiative in the continent on 9th March 2022 commenced a seminar in Kenya under the auspices of CWBN-Kenya.  The seminar coincided with International Women’s Day.

Voter registration starts in September 2022

The voter registration process for the upcoming Presidential, Parliamentary, Local Council, and Village Head elections is set to commence on the 3rd of September and to end on the 4th of October of 2022, according to a public notice from State House announcing dates for certain elections.  

The statement released on Friday 11th March 2022 stated that Biometric Technology and fixed registration centres shall be used to capture both the biographic and biometric data of eligible voters.
