NRA capacitates staff on ITAS

The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has ended a two-day capacity building programme for it staff on the Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS) at their regional office in Kenema.

Speaking at the training held on the 24th and 25th August 2021, the Manager of Integrated Tax Administration System, Aminata Eyaminde Mansaray said ITAS is a project brought by the government to help improve on the method of collecting revenue in the country.

Pretrial ends for 4 ‘robbers’

A pre-trial for Musa Kargbo and three others accused of robbery has concluded at the High Court in Freetown. According to evidence from the Magistrate Court on Pademba Road, the four men were said to have stolen monies and properties worth millions of Leones belonging to Sao Kpato Isatta Max-Kyne.

Ambassador to Russia engages Sierra Leonean Students

Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Mohamed Yongawo, has engaged cross section of Sierra Leonean students who were given Russian Scholarships before COVID-19 disruption of international travels in 2020.

61 students were awarded scholarships to pursue different courses at various universities in Russia.

The Independent Police Complaint Board (IPCB) together with UNDP have  conducted a training to build the capacity of the Sierra Leone Police, Fire Force, Correctional Service ,Civil Society and Inter-Religious bodies on the implementation of the Rwanda Security guidelines. The training took place in Kenema on Monday 23 August 2021.
