Global recovery depends on fragile nations - Sierra Leone president tells UN

President Julius Maada Bio has told the 76th United Nations General Assembly in New York about the disproportionate effects of covid 19 on the Group of Seven Plus conflict- affected and fragile countries a composition that he said Sierra Leone provides leadership to, that have led to a dismal state of the economies of these countries including drop in foreign aid, increased trade deficit and on a wider spectrum, global economic downturns.

SOS Children’s Villages has on Friday 24th September this year trained youths on career and unemployment under their YouthCan project at the SOS School Hall in Freetown.

The Children’s Villages International Representative for Lome Cluster, Dr. Amavi Bada recalled that he was part of the youth empowerment session about two years ago and stressed that youths need to change their mindset with regards unemployment and career. He noted that self-reliance should be a key for adults while addressing the youth gathering.
