Former Bo Rangers forward, Musa Noah Kamara popularly known as Musa Tombo yesterday 13th October allegedly made an attempt on his life by stabbing himself with a knife.

He was then taken to the Bo Government Hospital for medical attention.

Alfred Fornah and 20 others all from Makeni in the north of Sierra Leone were on Wednesday 12th October arraigned at the Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown charged with various public order offences allegedly committed during the anti-government protests that took place on August 10, 2022.

Reports are emerging of an alarming spate of violent robberies in taxis in various parts of the capital Freetown, a problem that has angered many people. 

Speaking to Politico on the 13th of October 2022 Abdul Carlos Sherry a victim of such a robbery narrated his ordeal of the 30th of September 2022 in which  his NLE 5,000 (five thousand new Leones) was stolen.

Lebanese School tops MBSSE essay writing completion

The Lebanese International School in Freetown has topped the just concluded letter writing completion conducted by the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary School Education (MBSSE) in partnership with the Sierra Leone Postal Service (SALPOST), grabbing the first and second positions.

Tamba Senessie and Sahr Senessie, two of triplet brothers from the school, held the first and second positions respectively in the junior secondary school level with a score of 86%.

Harmful cough syrup for children not in Sierra Leone – says Pharmacy Board

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Pharmacy Board Sierra Leone (PBSL) Fredrick V. Kanneh has assured Sierra Leoneans that the harmful cough syrup that was discovered in the Gambia is not in the country. He was reacting to news of a dangerous cough syrup which has reportedly killed 66 (sixty-six) children in the Gambia.

Speaking to Politico on the 13th of October 2022, Kanneh assured the public that none of the drugs produced by India‘s Maiden Pharmaceutical is currently being sold in the country.

Peace Commission takes district engagement to Falaba

The Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC) has engaged stakeholders in Falaba District in its latest tour of the provinces to help diffuse political tension in the country.  

Officials of the ICPNC held a discussion with a cross-section of the community people and local leaders at the Falaba district headquarter town of Mongo Bendugu. The visit was to present the commission and its activities so far, to the people, as well as to discuss ways they could all work together to promote peace in the country.

3 remanded over land fraud

Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown has remanded Saio Kamara, Joseph Kamara, and Josephine Kamara for allegedly defrauding Alhaji Ibrahima Sorie Jalloh the sum of OLe 385,000,000 (three hundred and eighty-five million Old Leones) for a piece of seven town lots of land at Hastings in the east part of Freetown.
