5 vehicles for “Hands Off Our Girls” campaign

The South Korean Red Cross Society has donated five vehicles to the Maada and Fatima Bio Foundation to facilitate the work of the hands-off our girls’ campaign – a campaign coordinated by the First Lady with a focus on the growth and development girls.

The Hyundai Santa Cruz Vehicles were handed over by the South Korea’s newly appointed Honorary Consul in Sierra Leone, Mahesh C. Nandwani to First Lady, Fatima Bio, at her office in Freetown on Thursday 8th December, 2022.

Rainbo Initiative dismisses clothing as excuse for rape

Sierra Leonean students win international innovation award

Students representing different universities in Sierra Leone have earned international awards for developing innovative technology application in healthcare and agricultural solution at the 2022 UNESCO-India-Africa Hackathon.

The students got their prizes after participating in the 36-hour non-stop Hackathon in Delhi, India held from 22nd -25th November, this year.

US Ambassador’s grant targets 8 communities in Sierra Leone

The United States Ambassador, David Reimer has awarded eight communities lead project organisations with the Ambassador’s Special Self-Help (SSH) grant totalling $ 40,000 (forty-thousand) to support economic development in the country.

 Formal presentation of the grant took place at the United States Embassy in Freetown last Wednesday..

The communities were selected from over 100 (one hundred) applications and had already commenced work as the first phase of the funds had been disbursed.
