With support from an independent aspirant for the Freetown Mayoral position, Serray Kabba, over 500 youths have commenced cleaning of major markets in the Freetown municipality, starting with the Dove Cut and Magazine Cut markets.
The cleaning process started on Sunday 11th December, 2022, with the youths being grouped, each with their Chairman and Chairlady.

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) says 67 (sixty seven) journalists have been killed so far in 2022 which is a spike in the number of journalists killed or imprisoned this year alone.
IFJ in a press release dated 10th December this year renewed its call on the international community to take concrete action to protect the safety and freedom of journalists around the world.

The Macpherson Foundation has donated food items and other basic commodities to the Monahin Orphanage home of disabled children at Grafton over the weekend.
The items donated include rice, cooking oil, Cartons of Tomatoe paste, onion, candies, and other basic things like diapers.
A representative of the foundation, Simeonette Pontis, said they decided to donate those specific items because of the home needs expressed by the care taker during their previous engagement.

Findings from the Afrobarometer survey have shown that fewer Sierra Leonean women have tertiary education than their male counterparts.
The report which was released on the 8th December 2022 stated that “Women are less likely than men to have post-secondary education and more likely to have no formal schooling”.
