The   Anti-Corruption Commission ACC has criticized the performances of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) based on the  2021 Auditor General’s report which claims huge sums money got misappropriated by various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

ACC Commissioner, Francis Ben Kaifala,told a press conference arranged by the commission that  like other previous Auditor General’s report in Sierra Leone, the report presents anomalies related to institutions  dealing with public resources.

The Minister of Energy, Alhaji Kanja Sesay has connected Koidu Holdings Mining Company Limited to the CLSG Grid, a company that electrifies the four regional countries of Cote D’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.

The Minister conducted the symbolic switching on of electricity at the company’s mining site in Kono district on the 5^th January.

 Four new factories have signed industrial agreements with the Ministry of Trade and Industry as they prepare to start operations in Sierra Leone. Trade Minister , Edward Hinga Sandi and representatives of the entities undertook the signing process in the presence of journalists at the weekly government press briefing in Freetown. 

Three are cement factories - SOL Co SL Limited, Randcem  Limited and Rockcem SL Limited. GoldTree SL Limited is  an organic palm oil production company.

The Always Work With Others (AWWO) Foundation has fed over 1,000 (one thousand) vulnerable children at the Grassfield playing field over the holidays.

The event was co- funded by a Norwegian company named Bravura.

According to the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AWWO, Umar Fuad Bawoh, they made a promise that every Christmas they will  feed over 1,000 (one thousand) vulnerable children. He noted that, the feeding programme actually commenced way back in 2017.

Dozens of orphans and underprivileged children from homes in Kenema in the east of Sierra Leone held a moment of elation and fanfare on Christmas Day, courtesy of the Development Foundation for Children Sierra Leone (DFCSL), a nongovernmental charitable organization in the country.

The event which took place at the office of the organization in Kenema, meant a lot to the kids from various deprived homes to celebrate together in the festive period, assuring them that they were never alone during the merry-making.

The Commander Joint Force (CJF) of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF), Major -General Dauda Fred Alpha, has called on the people of the Bramaia Chiefdom, a community that shares frontiers with  Guinea, to partner with the military in protecting the various porous border areas in their community.
