Hundreds graduate at F.B.C today

Hundreds of students are to graduate today 12th April from Fourah Bay College (FBC), a constituent college of the University of Sierra Leone (USL). The convocation is to be held at the institution’s Amphitheatre at Mount Aureol.

The other constituent colleges of the university, IPAM, and COMAHS will be having theirs on the 13th and 14th of April, 2023 respectively at the same auditorium.

NaCCED, CSOs discuss citizens’ budget guide

Officials of the National Commission for Civic Education and Development (NaCCED) have held a press conference during which they discussed with representatives of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), issues surrounding the Citizens Budget Guide, a simpler form of the national budget produced by the commission for the reading public.

Alleged gun importer granted bail

Magistrate Mark Ngegba has granted bail to a man alleged to have imported a gun and some narcotic drugs from Philadelphia in the United State of America to Sierra Leone.

The conditions of the bail granted to Dennis Koroma are that he should provide two sureties with NLe 200,000 each with properties in Freetown and must be holders of the new National Identity Card.

Sierra Leone bans street political rallies

The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has banned all street rallies by political parties in the upcoming 2023 electioneering process.

The commission  in its press release dated 3rd April this year stated that the decision came after a meeting held on the 27th of March 2023, with all registered political parties, election management bodies, the security sector, and other stakeholders in the electioneering process.

50 million Euros for Sierra Leone’s energy and agriculture sectors

Parliament has debated and ratified a 50 million Euros financial agreement grant between the European Union (EU) and the Government of Sierra Leone to increase renewable energy supply for the State and other agricultural-related development.

The ratification of the grant took place at the Well of Parliament on the 30th of March 2023.
