The latest Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) scorecard has indicated a drop in the control of corruption indicator. Even though the country met the standard set by MCC, the nation declined by three percent from last year’s scorecard.

The scorecard which was published on the 7^th November 2023 shows that Sierra Leone scored 76%, - a 3% drop from last year’s 79%. The nation passed ten out of twenty indicators.

In 2022 and 2021, the country even had better scores 83% and 81% respectively.

Guinean forces have strongly warned Sierra Leoneans not to interfere in their security crackdown following the attack on the Central Prison in Conakry  which saw many prisoners including the ex-junta leader, Captain Moussa Dadis Camara, freed alongside former Head of Presidential Security, Colonel Claude Pivi.

Captain Camara was soon recaptured but Col.Pivi is still at large.

The Premier League Board (PLB) Chairman of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Victor Lewis has revealed that the Winner of the 2023-2024 edition of the Leone Rock Premier League would bag 500 million Old Leones.

A police recruit, Fengai Babonjo has appeared before Magistrate Mark Ngegba in Freetown for unlawful possession of Cannabis. In his testimony, the commandant of the Sierra Leone Police Peacekeeping and Law Enforcement Academy (SILEA) at Hastings, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Alieu Jalloh said on Saturday 30^th September this year at about 14:30 hours, he was performing his routine checks at one of the billets at the said Hastings campus where he met the accused in a strange uniform going in the opposite direction.

 The announcement of a tariff increase by the National Telecommunications Authority (NaTCA) following review of tariffs for voice and data services, in Sierra Leone this week has sparked criticisms of Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) with some describing the act as “outrageous.”

A public notice issued by NaTCA regarding the increment on the 5^th of November, 2023 noted that the review has been warranted by “rapid changes cost variables.”

A 47-year-old witch doctor named Alusine Kamara has been taken into Police custody at the Newton (4 Mile) Police Post, Waterloo Police Division after being caught burying charms in graves at the Mabron Village cemetery in the dawn hours of Sunday 5^th  November, 2023.

The Police said the community people described the native doctor to be notorious of such act on the outskirts of Waterloo.
