The Financial Secretary Mathew Dingie has said that in the face of global shocks, the only way to be resilient as a Government is the adoption of tough policies to be able to deliver basic services for the people of this country.
Dingie was speaking in a Media interview explaining the Finance Act of 2024 that would lay the foundation for the implementation of the government budget and guide revenue generation and expenditure.

Leader of the Opposition Abdul Kargbo said he would like an investigation mounted over the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources’ handling of the Arise IIP Rail and Port agreement which was not honoured, saying it was an embarrassment to the nation.

Officials from the Ministry of Information and Civic Education from Sierra Leone have joined seven other countries to participate in a three-week media training with the title, “The Role of Media in Democratic Countries” held in Tokyo, Japan.
The training which commenced on the 9th of November this year was organized by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Centre in Japan and implemented by NHK Foundation.

The Supreme Court of Sierra Leone has struck out a case filed by Lawyer Sorie Sengbe Marrah requesting the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL) to publish certified and verified district level results of the June 2023 multitier elections.
This was indicated in a letter from the Supreme Court’s registry addressed to the plaintiff, Marrah, dated Wednesday 8th November 2023.

At the Saudi-Africa Summit in Riyadh, President Julius Maada Bio has called for more political cooperation to stimulate economic development and investment.
He said the summit held on Friday 19th November will enhance ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone, and the African continent as a whole.
