NPAA apprehends illegal occupants at Kambui forest

As encroachment continues in the Kambui Forest in Kenema with all the environmental dangers involved, the National Protective Area Authority (NPAA) has apprehended 11 illegal settlers in the forest area.

The arrests took place on the 14th of February, 2024 in the presence of various stakeholders in the district.

SLBC gets interim leadership

Following the dismissal of the board of directors at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), the Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah has in a press release dated 16th February this year constituted the appointment of an interim Oversight Team to manage the affairs of the nation’s broadcaster, a decision that has met criticisms from journalists.

According to the release, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Civic Education would lead the interim leadership.  

Gov’t dissolves University Court

The Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education (MTHE) has dissolved the Court of the University of Sierra Leone (USL) with immediate effect and nullified the appointment of Professor Mohamed Samai as Pro Vice Chancellor of USL and other posts held by other officials.
