Defense ministry commits to Ebola fight

Chief of defense staff has said that the ministry will continue to deploy military personnel to provide security for Ebola concentrated areas, prevent the further spread of the disease and eventually eradicate it.

Major General Samuel Omar Williams of the of the Sierra Leone Armed Forces, SLFA, told journalists at the recent government’s weekly press briefing in Freetown that they had deployed 1, 195 personnel so far.

Over ten suspected Ebola cases at the Koidu Government Hospital holding centre in Kono have been spotted outside their encampment areas on Sunday in search of food and water.

Sierra Leone police arrested for alleged murder

An OSD officer is being questioned by the Sierra Leone Police for the alleged murder of a certain David Kargbo of Allen Town in Freetown.

Police said the man died last month as a result of a gunshot wound he sustained from the suspect at Ojuku Junction, Allen Town.
