By Chernor Alimamy Kamara

President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Thomas Daddy Brima has been asked by the Ethics Board of the Association to respond to allegations bordering on Ethics Code and Regulations.

A letter addressed to the SLFA boss about the issue has gone public on social media.

The content of the letter explained that Brima was seen in a video circulated on social media, purporting to represent the SLFA in the nomination of  Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) flagbearer and running mate , President Julius Maada Bio and Vice President  Dr.Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh respectively at the Brima Attouga Mini Stadium, for the forthcoming General elections in the country.

The letter further explained that the SLFA President was alleged to have been part of a political activity and made a speech on the said political event on the 2nd May, 2023.

It therefore noted that the aforementioned allegations amounted to a breach of the Ethics Code and Regulations 2020, and an Article in the SLFA statute.

The board in the letter advised Brima to desist from interfering with the investigations, noting that any proof of interference will result in immediate suspension from the executive committee, as they proceed with investigations.

The board stated that they would be grateful if the SLFA President could first respond to the allegations in writing, together with an exculpatory evidence he could share with them within 72 hours of  receipt of the letter.

They went on to say that if he fails to respond to them, they will proceed with the matter and publish the result of their findings.
