Chairman of the finance committee in parliament, Hassan Sheriff, MP, has disclosed that no ministry, department and agency (MDA) will be spared when they start investigating “financial mismanagement”. Representing constituency 53 in the Port Loko district, the legislator said he would engage public finance management reform units in the Ministry of Finance, Development and Economic Planning to organise a workshop to trains new MPs on budget formulation ahead of the 2014 budget debate. He said the committee would also engage local councils to review the 2013 budget performance pact as well as the revenue mobilisation in the National Revenue Authority. He promised to ensure transparency and accountability in the work of MDAs.
