Mariama Sesay, wife of late Ibrahim Sesay, has on Wednesday testified before Magistrate Sahr Kekura in Freetown, in an ongoing preliminary investigations into a one-count charge of malicious damage brought up against Memunatu Sesay, her mother in-law.     

Artists share artistic experiences as art exhibition ends

Visual Artists from across Sierra Leone have converged in Freetown to exhibit their talents and share experiences at the just concluded Barray Art Exhibition 2020.

The Barray Art Exhibition is a festival that is organised twice a year in every April and December. The Final session for 2020 was hosted from 3rd - 13th December at Toma, Cape Road, Aberdeen.

Kenema to enforce Covid measures ahead of Xmas

In an effort to minimize, if not prevent the spread of coronavirus during the upcoming festive season, the Kenema District Covid-19 Emergency Response Center (DICOVERC) has engaged stakeholders over the possibility of enforcing existing regulations to ensure compliance.

The essence of the meeting, according to officials, is to get the views of the local authorities for the enforcement of the measures.

Six in police net for riotous conduct

The police in Bo say they have charged six people for riotous conduct in relation to violent clashes in Barry Village in the Valunia chiefdom.

The accused include one Frederic Boju, an ex-staffer of a mining company who police say hired about 20 men to attack workers of the company over grievances emanating from his sacking.

Landlord in court for ‘‘beating’’ tenant

Mabinty Bangura, wife of one Amadu Bangura who alleges to have been assaulted by his landlord Abubakarr Kamara, has testified before Magistrate Mark Ngegba in Freetown in the ongoing preliminary investigations into a three-count charge of assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intent to kill.

Led in evidence by Police prosecutor IG Edward Sesay on Monday 14th December 2020, the witness told the court that she and her husband were tenants to the accused at a house situated at Congo Cross.

Sierra Leone Parliament approves agriculture agreement with Abu Dhabi

Sierra Leone parliament has on Friday the 11th of December unanimously approved the foreign investment agreement between Republic of Sierra Leone and Elite Agro-Sierra Leone (EAG) based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirate (UAE).

The investing company, Elite Agro LLC, has operations across the globe.
