Judge to rule on APC case against injunction

Legal arguments for and against the extension of the recent High Court injunction slammed on all political activities within the main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) Party have taken place before Justice Adrian J. Fisher in Freetown.

Representing the plaintiff applicant Alfred Peter Conteh on Friday 5th March 2021, Lawyer Jesse M. Jengo pleaded with the court to extend the interim injunction following the expiration of the 7- day period provided for by law.

Sierra Leone FA in big legal tussle

Two prominent international footballers from Sierra Leone have gone to the High Court in Freetown accusing the Sierra Leone Football Association, SLFA and the Ministry of Sport in the government of Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma of defaming them and “making unfounded claims of match-fixing” against them. They are asking the court to award them three million United States dollars in damages.

SABI hosts roundtable on governance, accountability

The Strengthening Accountability and Building Inclusion (SABI) project implementing partners of Christian Aid on Wednesday 3rd March, hosted a one-day Roundtable discussion on Governance and Accountability, with the objective of sharing ideas on gains and challenges made in the last five years.

SABI, which is a UK government-funded project, was initially designed for four years, but it was extended for a year more at the beginning of 2020, and it is wrapping up its activities ahead of closure on March 31.

Land complaints committee meets today

The newly constituted Committee to address land disputes in the Western Area of Sierra Leone commences sittings today Tuesday 9 March 2021 at the Bank of Sierra Leone Complex, Kingtom. This was disclosed by Lands minister Dr. Turad Senessie during the weekly media briefing organised by the Ministry of Information and Communications in Freetown. The Committee will initially start receiving complaints from the public.
