Water Crisis hits Sierra Leone's newest district hq

There is an acute water shortage in Mongo Bendu which is the headquarter town of Falaba, one of the two newest districts in Sierra Leone. The shortage was reported to have caused a lot of discomfort for residents of the town.

According to Finah Marah popularly known as Keita Finah, 50 households in her area depend on only one hand pump well where she normally fetches water for both drinking and domestic use. She told Politico that the well has not been supplying the needed quantity of water to the people in recent days.

Light of Kasseh elects maiden national executive

The Light of Kasseh elected its maiden national executive to run the affairs of the fledgling organization for the next two years at a special general meeting held at Kissy Dockyard in Freetown on Sunday 11th April 2021.

A Freetown-based businessman, Mr Ibrahim Sorie Sesay who has several years’ experience in forming and managing grassroots interest groups, as well as in mobilizing people for public interest actions, was elected chairman.

20,000 Solar Lamps to boost Free Quality Education in Sierra Leone

A local company Sewa Energy Resources Limited (SERL) Sierra Leone has donated 20,000 solar lights to the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) as support to the Free Quality Education (FQE) project.

The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Kofi Macauley and his team officially handed over the solar lamps to Ministry officials at New England in Freetown on Wednesday 7th April 2021.

Bo police investigate alleged stolen baby

The Regional criminal investigation department of the Police in Bo is investigating five nurses and a security guard that were on duty at the Bo Government Hospital when a child went missing. 

Police Media and Public Relations Officer, Southern Region  Inspector Mohamed Bobson Senu told Politico that on Sunday 11th April, 2021 they got a call from a nurse reporting the disappearance of a child at the hospital.
