Maternal death on the increase in eastern Sierra Leone

The Health Sister II Kenema District Health Management Team (DHMT), Janet Tenneh Sankoh has told Politico that there is a worrisome situation over maternal deaths in the district.

She explained that at the Under Five Clinic, 30 maternal mortality deaths were recorded from January to May this year.  “This rate of maternal deaths is not really good for Kenema district’’, she stated.

Limkokwing to resume classes in Sierra Leone

World Bank VP calls on African leaders to rethink fiscal policy

The World Bank Group Vice President and Chief Economist, Prof. Carmen Reinhart has called on African Leaders to rethink revenue mobilisation strategies and other fiscal policies as the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic continues to exacerbate debt stress levels across the continent.

She said most economies across the world, inclusive of several African countries, entered the pandemic when they were at high risk of or in debt distress levels occasioned by rising debts, slowing growth and weak financial conditions.

Murder trial…2 witnesses testify
