The National COVID-19 Emergency Response Centre (NaCOVERC) has on the 24th June 2021 declared the presence of the Delta Variant of the coronavirus disease in Sierra Leone. NaCOVERC has therefore called on the public to comply with the measures that were announced on the 17th June 2021, one of which was for everyone who is age 30 and above to take the vaccine or be restricted to access public buildings.

Dr. Kandeh Yumkella of the National Grand Coalition (NGC) Party in Parliament has in an interview with Politico said he has no idea why he was not included in the composition of the Selection or Supervisory Committees of the House that was announced this week.
The opposition NGC leader said he could not find an answer to his exclusion from the committees and suggested that the question be directed at the Speaker of the Parliament Dr. Abass Bundu. “Why all the other leaders are there but not Yumkella”, he retorted.

In an effort to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Sierra Leone and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sierra Leone’s mission, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are set to sign a cooperation agreement.
The agreement between the two countries according to officials would promote cooperation between the two nations in the areas of trade, investment, education, science, culture, tourism sports and the economy, among others.
