7 years imprisonment for manslaughter

Justice Monfred Momoh Sesay has on the 23rd September this year sentenced 20-years-old Ibrahim Kamara, to seven years imprisonment for unlawfully killing his cousin Sulaiman Bah in Freetown.

Kamara was at first charged with the offence of murder but was later reduced to manslaughter on the request and acceptance of both the prosecutor, Joseph A. K. Sesay and defence lawyer, Komba Kanu.

MTA to curb overpricing of public transportation

Le 321 Bn to ensure rice sufficiency in 2023 in Sierra Leone

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) has requested for 321 billion Leones to ensure rice sufficiency by 2023.

The Agriculture Ministry made the request on the 21st September this year at the Ministry of Finance (MoF) Conference Hall in Freetown where various ministries were discussing their budget for the 2022 Fiscal Year. MAF is set to increase rice production from 59% to 86% in order to attain the human capital development target of rice sufficiency by the year 2023.
