Releasing the 2024 seasonal outlook for the rainy season, the Deputy Director General of the Sierra Leone Meteorological Agency (SLMet), Gabriel Kpaka has forecasted low rainfall this rainy season across the country compared to previous seasons.

Presenting the forecast to newsmen at a press briefing held on the 3^rd of May 2024 at the agency’s office in Freetown, Kpaka said the operations of the agency including the rainfall seasonal outlook are guided by the World Meteorological Organization.

The third prosecution witness in the on-going manslaughter case involving the former Skye Bank Manager Ikubolaje Nicol has testified that before the death of the deceased, Sinnah Kai Kargbo, a medical doctor had warned her to stop taking a particular harmful substance or risk death.

Maada Bundeh who described himself as a close friend to the deceased told the court on Friday 3^rd May 2024, that the deceased confided in him after receiving the warning from her doctor.

The g7+ fragile countries made up of 20 member states have concluded a two day experience learning of conflict prevention with the aim of implementing the knowledge gained in their various member states.  

The meeting launched by Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh (PhD) was held in Freetown between 30th April to 1st May 2024.
