A battery of lawyers representing 11 out of 12 accused persons in the ongoing treason trial, have in their individual oral no-case submissions argued that the state prosecution has failed to produce evidence to prove that their clients committed treason and other offences.
Oral no-case submissions were made on Tuesday 18 June, 2024, on behalf of the first accused, Amadu Koita Makalo, Bai Mahmoud Bangura, eighth accused and Tamba Yamba the tenth accused.

As part of its new grant cycle to fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the Head of Grant Management Division at Global Fund, Mark Eldon-Edington, and his team from Geneva have officially presented a cheque of $136,244,674 (one hundred and thirty six million, two hundred and forty four thousand, six hundred and seventy four thousand United States Dollars) to President Julius Maada Bio to strengthen the health care system in the country.

Justice Momoh-Jah Stevens has ordered that manslaughter accused, Ikubolaje Nicol return to the Pademba Road Male Correctional Centre, where he would continue his medical treatment. The Judge gave the order on Tuesday 18th June 2024.
He said the temporal relocation to the prison was for only two weeks to observe his medical status and that Dr. Russel, the cardiologist, who was treating him at Connaught Hospital, or other medical practitioners should have unhindered access to him at the Pademba Road prison.

With support from Africa Resilience Investment Accelerator (ARIA) and Invest Salone, Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) have pledged to support private investment in Sierra Leone with increased and more flexible financial lending to grow their businesses.
The support will happen by investing in the local financial institutions, which will in turn channel more loan opportunities to businesses in the country.

The Government and the main opposition All People’s Congress have both reaffirmed their commitment to work together in addressing electoral reforms in the country after a brief stalemate within the Tripartite Committee -established to address long-standing irregularities in the electoral process.
This follows a meeting between the committee members and President Julius Maada Bio in Freetown yesterday.
