Sierra Leone’s Head of State, addressing a forum of the OPEC Fund for International Development, has spoken of his government’s commitment towards a partnership that will support robust, sustainable, and inclusive energy growth and reaffirmed dedication to his Big Five Game Changers in Sierra Leone.  

President Bio made this statement on June 25, 2024, whilst delivering a speech on pressing global issues such as climate change, food insecurity, extreme poverty, gender inequality, educational deficit, and energy insecurity.

The Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund (ATJLF) has approved a total amount of $2.6 million in sub-grants and legacy projects. A total of $1,555,000 will support 15 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to advance transitional justice initiatives across 16 West African countries.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) is set to conduct a nationwide immunization on measles and Rubella for one million, three hundred children together with another twenty five thousand non vaccinated kids across the country.

The immunization campaign launched on the 28^th June, 2024 will target 9 to 59 months old children and it is set to last for one week starting the launch date to 4^th July, this year.

 171 Sierra Leonean healthcare professionals, ranging from doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists have been trained by the medical charity Mercy Ships, according to the Country Director, Dr. Sandra Lako.

 The doctor and her team were updating  Journalists  at the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in Freetown on Tuesday 25^th June on the work they have done  so far during their first medical field service in Sierra Leone in the last ten months.

In a bid to promote inclusivity in Sierra Leone, the Chairman of the National Council for Civic Education and Democracy (NaCCED) Kalilu Ibrahim Totangi has said breaking political party dominance in the country’s democratic system will go a long way in promoting inclusivity.  

He made the statement on the 24^th of June 2024 whilst giving an overview of the significance of the two-day citizens’ dialogue session on “Consolidating democracy by promoting inclusive participation”.
