A Court Order has instructed the Directors of the Sierra Leone Association of Women in Journalism (SLAWIJ) to take necessary steps to convene an Annual General Meeting (AGM) with immediate effect or not later than 30th September, 2024, and urged that they grant all members the full rights of notification, access and participation.

Citizens want inclusive implementation of tripartite report

Ahead of the submission of the tripartite report to President Julius Maada Bio, the Centre for Accountability and Rule of Law (CARL) led a nation-wide regional stakeholder engagement in Bo, Kenema, Makeni and PortLoko during which citizens called for an inclusive, participatory and accountable implementation of the recommendations of the tripartite committee’s report.

Chief Minister urges reduction in maternal mortality

The Chief Minister, Dr.David Moinina Sengeh has urged the Ministry of Health to do all they could to reduce maternal mortality to Zero by 2038.

Sengeh made this call on the 2nd July 2024 at the Brookfields Hotel in Freetown at the launch of the Pregnancy Registration and Service Tracking (PReSTrack) app by the Ministry of Health together with the Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI).
