Sierra Leone outgone Works Minister makes parting courtesies

The outgone Minister of Works and Public Assets Peter Bayuku Konteh, says he is grateful that he was accorded the opportunity to serve the Government and people of Sierra Leone.

He was speaking during the formal handing over of office to his successor Dr. Dennis Sandy and deputy in Freetown.

The event saw the presentation of a comprehensive Handing-Over-Note which outlines the Ministry's functions, ongoing programmes, agencies under its supervision, and its financial status.

4 committed to High Court for aggravated robbery

A Magistrate in Freetown has committed four accused, one being a minor, to High Court over various counts including robbery with aggravation.

The accused are Christopher John known as Arkor the teen first accused, Osman Tarawalie alias 5-4, Mohamed Bai Kamara nicknamed Alkaline, and Ibrahim Koroma alias Dino  second, third, and fourth accused respectively.

Accused rejects police statement

A man facing preliminary investigation into a larceny charge has rejected a statement tendered by a police prosecutor saying it was different from what he told the police. 21-year-old accused Bockarie Koroma was testifying in his defence after the prosecution had closed its case.

Waterloo theft case continues

A police prosecution witness has testified at a Freetown Magistrate’s Court that the two accused persons in an on-going store breaking and larceny case Steven Sesay and Saio Marrah removed the zinc from the roof of a store in Waterloo and gained entrance to the building.
