Bishop Biguzzi to be buried today in Makeni

Makeni City, north of Sierra Leone will today be teeming with thousands of mourners as they pay their last respect to the Late Bishop George Biguzzi. The remains of the long-serving former Head of the Makeni Diocese who died in Parma, Italy arrived on Friday, for laying in his final resting place as he had wished.

He served the Makeni Diocese of the Catholic Church for decades and was well respected and loved for his charity work and educational support to thousands of people in the north of the country.

Citizens want inclusive implementation of tripartite report

Ahead of the submission of the tripartite report to President Julius Maada Bio, the Centre for Accountability and Rule of Law (CARL) led a nation-wide regional stakeholder engagement in Bo, Kenema, Makeni and PortLoko during which citizens called for an inclusive, participatory and accountable implementation of the recommendations of the tripartite committee’s report.
