Kenema pediatric ward in limbo

The Community Health Officer in charge of the pediatric ward of the Kenema government hospital, Luseni Rogers says that for the timely intervention of the hospital matron, fire would have destroyed the ward and threatened the whole hospital.

Rogers said that it was the matron who rushed to the scene and put the main electricity switch off just as the cables began to spark around 6:28 pm.

Disability leader faults Disability Act

Executive Secretary at the National Commission for Persons with Disability, Janet Robinson, has said that most of the issues discussed in the Disability Act are not practically incorporated.

While addressing the challenges of the Commission, at an ENCISS-organised forum in Freetown, Robinson said that persons with disability were still deprived of facilities due them.

SIERRATEL calls for support

The information committee in parliament, chaired by Binneh Bangura, MP, has summoned the government-owned telecommunications company, SIERRATEL, to familiarize themselves with the House.

Chairman of Sierratel, Tom Obaleh Roberts, and the deputy managing director, Edward Sesay, say they are ready to provide the country with easy internet access.
