The Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara and chairman of MODCON,a construction company, Bassan Ghodssoubhas sealed an agreement for the construction of an ACC headquarters on Tower Hill in Freetown.
The signing ceremony, on Tuesday 15 January 2013, took place at the Commission’s Conference room at Gloucester Street. Effective work is expected to start on 7 February 2013, according to a release.
Kamara said that he was happy about government’s commitment to ensuring that they had their own edifice and assured the contractors that resources would be available for the project.
Government has already granted Le3 billion to start the project and a further commitment of funds for its completion of the project was made by President Ernest Bai Koroma, ACC says.
The commissioner spoke about the crowded occupancy of the present ACC structure at their Gloucester Street office which he said had consistently limited their work. He said that they were expanding to meet the government’s decentralization plan.
The contractor, Mr. Ghodssoub assured that they were doing all in their power to see that the construction would becompleted in good time.
The consultants supervising, Ron Greene and Jenner Forde from IDEAS Limited, witnessed the signing.
