As part of the humanitarian assistance to the West-African states during the Holy month of Ramadan, Sierra Leone has received 50 tons of assorted food items from the Government of the United Arab Emirates.
Receiving the items on behalf of the government and people of Sierra Leone, Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the UAE, Rashid Sesay, expressed gratitude to the UAE leadership for their continuous support to his country noting that that was a testament to the tremendous progress made over the years to strengthen the friendly relationship between Sierra Leone and the UAE.
According to a report from the Press attaché to the UAE, Mohamed Massaquoi, the items which includes rice, cooking vegetable oil, flour among others; on 4th May 2021 departed Abu Dhabi, capital of the UAE, via a special Etihad Cargo flight and is expected to arrive at the Freetown International Airport today, 5th May.
The UAE over the years has been a supportive partner to the Government and people of Sierra Leone, especially in the areas of education, healthcare delivery and agriculture.
