Safari Minerals has announced that it is now in the advanced stages of establishing a new buying office in the southern district of Sierra Leone. The office is to be located in the diamond boom town of Bo and once complete, will act as the company's head office in the country.
Safari Mineral President Andrew 'Diamond Drew' Lovett: "I personally know the city of Bo very well and I'm excited that as a company we are close to establishing a new office in the area. The timing for Safari Minerals could not be better as current Sierra Leone exports of rough diamonds for January and February 2012 have nearly doubled when compared to the numbers from 2011. The Sierra Leone diamond trade is experiencing a boom and I am proud that Safari Minerals will be there to capitalize on the upswing. "
The office will be equipped to handle more than 80 sellers per day and the company anticipates seeing up to 30,000 carats per day. Parcels that meet Safari's criteria in relation to market conditions in Antwerp will be purchased out of this office and taking to government office for compliance with the international 'Kimberly process'.
It is important to note that this new office will contain repair shop and sufficient space to store the company's mining equipment to ensure a smooth transition to phase 2 of Safari's overall business strategy. Safari Mineral's goal is for the office to be open and operational buy end of April 2012.
