Sierra Leone opposition questions vacancies in govt

Publicity Secretary of the main opposition SLPP party has questioned the existence of “the many vacancies in strategic government ministerial positions” saying his party demands answers.

Addressing a press conference in Freetown, Musa Tamba Sam said that about a year ago works minister, Alimamy P. Koroma and deputy education minister Mahmoud Tarawally were sacked “but they have still not been replaced”.

Makeni gets Ebola treatment centre

Bombali District has finally got an Ebola treatment centre with a 100-bed facility. It was established by Addax Bio Energy Company which operates in the region.

Addax General Manager, Trevor Andres said the facility, which had been approved by the UN World Health Organisation and the ministry of health, cost them over $300,000. He said the centre had a transformer and electricity.

President Koroma salutes Pujehun

“Job Seekers Unit” demands reward in Bombali

Executive Director of Job Seekers Unit, Abubakarr Kamara said they had been helping with sanitary activities across the district, and had voluntarily taken over cleaning of the central cemetery and other strategic public places in Makeni.

Amb. Daramy visits Sierra Leone school in The Gambia

Sierra Leone's High Commission to The Gambia, Soulayman Daramy last Friday visited three schools established by a Sierra Leonean who lived in that country for 28 years, according to information attaché at the mission, Ralph Sawyer.

At the Nursery, the ambassador said he was pleased to be invited "to see for myself the vision and product of a citizen of Sierra Leone imparting knowledge into pupils of a sister country."
