As Sierra Leone strives towards eradicating the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) which has negatively impacted on the country’s socio-economic development, Fambul Tok, an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) in the country, has kicked off post-Ebola sensitization at Mapaki Section, Bombali District.

Court Martial: Accused calls for forensic evidence

The accused in the on-going trial at Court Martial, presided over by His Lordship Alhaji Abu Bakarr King, has called for the result of the forensic analysis conducted on the alleged ‘letter of request’ by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) hand writing expert.

Parliament decries ‘unserious’ attitude of local councils

The chairman of the oversight committee on Local Government in parliament, Abubakar Koroma, has lamented attitude of the 19 local councils across the country, accusing them of treating the House committee with lack of seriousness.

MP Koroma made this statement last week while addressing representatives from the various councils. He said the councils were completely disconnected from the committee and that the relationship was hindering their work.

“The local councils have no respect for Members’ of parliament,” he stated.
