The Mano River Union (MRU), in partnership with the United Nations Office in West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), has ended a two-day high powered sub-regional security conference in Freetown, amidst calls for collaboration among member states.

COI: Defence questions competency of property valuator

One of the Defense Counsels for Persons of Interest at the Commission of Inquiry, Ady Macauley, used his cross examination on Monday to question the competence of the property valuator hired by the State, Olu Campbell.

Campbell did the valuation on the property of Macauley’s clients.

In his line of questioning, Macauley sought to establish whether Campbell had any academic documentation for the job he is doing.

Lassa fever hits northern Sierra Leone, kills Dutch doctor

A Dutch medical doctor who contracted Lassa Fever at the Masanga Hospital in Tonkolili District has died after he was repatriated.

Dr Noulet Woucher was one of ten European doctors – seven Dutch and three British – who were evacuated last week but died over the weekend.

As Sierra Leone parliament in turmoil, House clerk, lawmaker report at ACC

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) heeded public calls over the weekend and invited two officials of the House of Parliament for questioning over their suspected involvement in corruption.

Clerk of Parliament, Paran Umar Tarawally and lawmaker Ibrahim Tawa Conteh are expected to report to the (ACC)’s headquarters today, Monday November 25, an official to Politico over the weekend.
