“Victim” in Kamarainba's trial continues testimony

Defense lawyers representing the leader of the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray have cross-examined the 15 -year old victim who is alleged to have been sexually penetrated multiple times by the 2018 Presidential candidate when hearing resumed again before Justice Samuel O. Taylor at the Sexual Offenses Division of the High Court in Freetown.   

Flies invade and estabilize eastern Sierra Leone

Residents in Tiloma community in Kenema City have expressed fears of a possible outbreak of diseases as a result of fly infestation.

The community people say they have been battling with a swam of flies which are attracted to their community by a nearby dumpsite run by the Kenema City Council (KCC).

The dumpsite is located just two miles away from the community and the residents say the situation has become unbearable as they have for a long time been forced to do everything indoors.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has cleared the University of Sierra Leone (USL) of any possible corruption charges that could have stemmed from the 2018 Audit Report. The ACC announced their findings in a press statement on Monday, after more than six months of investigation into issues raised in the latest report from the country’s Auditor General.

Family of alleged murder victim cry for justice

The family of Edmond Alpha, who was allegedly murdered in Batiyaima Layout in Bo, southern Sierra Leone, has called for speedy investigation and justice on the matter.

Alpha’s body was discovered in a toilet pit on the 14th of August this year. His family believe that he was beaten and killed before been dumped in the abandoned toilet pit, after he was allegedly chased and shouted at as a thief at by the husband of one Mrs. Mamie Tamaeko.

CSOs warn gov't against trivializing Polytech strike

A civil society organization in Kenema has warned the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education against trivializing the strike action of lecturers of the Eastern Polytechnic.

In an engagement with the aggrieved lecturers, CSO leaders in the district warned that government's complacency could have a major impact on education in the region.

Regional Coordinator of Peoples Power Movement, Patrick Adu, said: “From our findings, government has not done anything to address the concerns of the lecturers.”
