Sierra Leone police, parliament debunk damning report

The House of Parliament and the Sierra Leone Police have debunked the report of a corruption survey that was commissioned by the Center for Accountability and the Rule of Law (CARL). The Corruption Perception Survey, which was launched in April this year, listed Police and Parliamentarians as the top two most corrupt public sector workers.

Sierra Leone introduces upgraded vehicle number plates

The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) has introduced a new form of vehicle number plate. The Authority on Monday officially launched the new number plate at its Kissy road, Freetown headquarters. The upgraded features on the plate, according to Adisa Dosunmu of the Authority’s Management Information System, would help eliminate fake ones, and possibility of their transfer from one vehicle to another. 

Latter Days Saints uplifts Community Clinic in Bo

Sierra Leone has got a lot to celebrate when it comes to its response to health emergency, according to a public health expert working with the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevent.

Dr. Tushar Singh, who is the Country Head of the CDC, said Sierra Leone’s handling of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic is a far cry from its experience with the 2014-2016 Ebola epidemic, noting that back then not only did the country lack the infrastructure but also the human resource.
