The chairman of the opposition All People’s Congress, APC has told a magistrate in Freetown that doctors were still assessing the condition of former president Ernest Bai Koroma who was granted bail to travel to Nigeria six weeks ago for medical examination and treatment.
Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray, who is standing as surety for the former president who is accused of treason, said efforts were made to get Ernest Bai Koroma’s medical report “but due to some medical procedures we could not get it”.

The 8th accused in the on-going treason trial has denied being part of the November 26, 2023 attempt to overthrow the government of President Bio. Bai Mahmoud Bangura said this in his statement to the police read in the High Court on Wednesday 6thMarch, 2024 by the ninth prosecution witness, Abubakarr Kargbo.

A National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the National Grand Coalition ,(NGC) party, held at the party’s headquarter at Naimbana Street in Freetown on the 8th March, 2024 ended in chaos as police had to disperse some opposing members.
A press release issued by the Sierra Leone Police noted that it received a letter from the NGC alluding to hold their quarterly NEC meeting at their party headquarters to “decide on very crucial issue that may lead to divided opinions and tension among the party members.”

Prosecutors have told the High Court that the telephone call log of the third accused in the on-going treason trial proves that he was in communication with alleged perpetrators of the November 26th 2023 attempted coup on the day of the incident.
Emmanuel Salifu Kamara was, until his arrest, one of the security guards (police) to former president, Ernest Bai Koroma at his home in Makeni.
