Qcell group chair promises more investment in Sierra Leone

The Chairman of QGroup, a subsidiary company of mobile telecommunications operator, Qcell network in Sierra Leone has promised to bring more of his companies operating in other parts of Africa to Sierra Leone as a way of giving back to the country in which he was educated.

TransAir to resume flight to Sierra Leone

The Management of the TransAir group, an airspace Travel Company has said that the Company will resume services by flying between Guinea and Freetown after they were brought to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Officials of the company made that statement on 10th March 2021 during a courtesy and familiarity visit to the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Guinea.

New US Ambassador arrives in Sierra Leone

The new United States Ambassador to Sierra Leone David Reimer arrived in Freetown on Monday 8th March 2021, replacing Ambassador Maria Brewer who served here for three years.

The ambassador according to report from the Embassy’s communications unit was received by Victor Abdulai Sheriff, Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

18% of cabinet minister are women - Sierra Leone Gender Minister

The Minister of Gender and Children’s Affairs Manty Tarawally has said that President Bio's appointment of women into cabinet positions represent 18.5% of total appointments exceeding the stated goal of the Mid-term National Development Plan. 

The minister was speaking on Thursday, 4th March 2021 at the Ministry of Information weekly press Conference in line with this year's International Women’s Day observed on Monday.
