More progress in Education than Health - IGR/ Oxfam report

Report of a study by a local research group, Institute for Governance Reform (IGR) and the British NGO, Oxfam says significant progress has been made in education than health in Sierra Leone. The assessment was contained in a report highlighting “citizens’ feedback on the state of health and education services” that IGR’s partners the World Bank officially launched in a committee room of the Sierra Leone Parliament on Wednesday 24 March 2021.

NACOVERC monitors vaccination in Kenema.

As a way to ascertain whether the public has been convinced about the use of COVID -19 vaccines, a team from NACOVERC in collaboration with the District Health Management Team in Kenema has started monitoring the vaccination exercise in the district.

The delegation went to the Government Hospital, the Second Battalion military barracks and Panguma hospital in the lower Bambara chiefdom.

A senior  civil society figure in the Southern region, Mustapha Kpaka has on behalf of activists in that part of the country condemned the riotous behaviour of some students attending the  Ahmaddiyya Muslim Secondary School in Bo city which resulted in the arrest of twenty-one young people, many believed to be pupils of the school.
