Following a recent announcement by the Anti- Corruption Commission (ACC) of the indictment of Idrissa Alimamy Kargbo  a Legal Officer working for the Ombudsman’s office, the establishment  has in a press statement committed to support the ACC’s investigations in that regard.

Epileptic drowns in Sierra Leone's River Sewa

19-year-old Kadiatu Ali has reportedly drowned in the River Sewa in the early hours of Thursday 13th May 2021 after she went to wash clothes on the banks of the river.

 Kadiatu was said to be pregnant and has a history of epilepsy from which she normally experienced seizures.

Appeals court ruling awaits ex-deputy health Minister

The  Court of Appeal presided over by  Justice Michael P.H Mami has withdrawn  files relating to the former deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation,  Madina Rahman for ruling, after thirty minutes each was allotted to counsel representing the appellant and the state. The court also gave ten minutes to the appellant's Lawyer, Ady Macaulay, and the Lawyer representing the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Robert B. Kowa, for rebuttals and rejoinders. 

Sierra Leone's new Finance Minister assures

Finance Minister Dennis Vandi has told workers in the Ministry that he will follow the trajectory of his predecessor in attaining economic stability and growth. Vandi was addressing staff during the note handing over ceremony by the erstwhile Minister Jacob Jusu Saffa who is now the new Chief Minister in the office of the President following the recent reshuffle of cabinet and the diplomatic staff.

FOCUS 1000 trains polio vaccination monitors

A non-governmental organization FOCUS 1000 with support from UNICEF has ended a polio vaccine monitoring training of 132 vaccine accountability monitors for the upcoming polio campaign in the Kenema district. The training took place in Joru, Gaura chiefdom, Blama in Small Bo chiefdom and Kenema city itself.
