Nigerian shops in Sierra Leone to close Monday for Biafra leader

Many Nigerian-owned shops in Sierra Leone will close on Monday 26 July in solidarity with the Biafra separatist leader, Nnamdi Kanu who is due to appear in court in Abuja on the same day.

According to Mazi Chidi Tendency Uchendu, the National Coordinator in Sierra Leone of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), their shops will be closed “in support of our leader who was kidnapped in Kenya and is due to appear in court on…Monday”.

Appeal’s Court to decide on Sierra Leone's former president Koroma

The Court of Appeal in Freetown has adjourned the matter involving former President Ernest Bai Koroma in his appeal for interpretation of section 48(4) of the 1991 Constitution for ruling.

The court made the decision on Wednesday 21st July 2021 having heard submissions from both representatives for the appellant and the State.

The businessman who is also chairman of high flying Bo Rangers football club will now take full managerial charge of Leone Stars, a position he would hardly find strange, having been seen in very interactive engagements with the players in the build up to the team’s triumph over Benin in the AfCon crucial qualifier played at a neutral venue in Conakry, Guinea.
